I just got into energy work I am a sports injury therapist. I became interested in energy work when I started to see it !iam, more often than not able to see where peoples problems / ailments manifest i Have been able to sense where the problem is and I have been aware of this energy for years but only recently I started to manipulate it. I wouldnt think much of it really but when major symptoms went (I just had 1 lady whom had IBS for 12years all gone in 1session and many other similar ailments just goin in 1sess.) and the patient feels better there has got to be sommat in it. If you saw me you would nt guess I was into all this Iam a typical 35 year old man, i like watchin the footy, i have a young family, i used to do the so called normal time passing activities. I wanted to see if i could tap into the so called universal energy and energy we all have within us. I used to teach martial arts and I could sense many energies but not sure what they were. So I studied remote viewing and to my surprise it works and anyone can do it. I am quickly starting to believe that anyone can heal with energy. At the end of the day the practitioners intention is what counts if you got the results and felt comfatable with the prayers (I dont do that tho LOL) go for it. Answer your own questions dont knock anything untill you have tried it but remeber there are cowboys in everyindustry so good luck!
References :
www.learnrv.com

Yes, there is something to shakrahs (chakras) and energetic healing work. But as a practitioner, I usually don't start with energy work on the first visit, unless the client asks for it.

You be the judge - did you feel anything different over the next few days after the session? If not, then some other modality might be appropriate for you. If you want to let me know about your symptoms, I can suggest another approach which could be more benefical.

There are times when energy work is appropriate and the client is ready for it. In most cases the symptoms described by the client will improve by clearing infections in the body and treating adrenal exhaustion. This is the starting point with all my clients. Energy work however, is something I suggest for the 3rd or 4th visit.
References :
Dear friend,

You have no idea of what you are dealing with... About 20 years ago, when I developed a huge interest in alternative medicine, I went looking for info and help all over the places. Only to find these type of mystic and bogus practices. They are very old, but with new names. The Celtic culture, back in 1,200 A.C. resurrected a form of neo-pagan enphasis in "nature cure" where spirits, magnetic forces, cosmic energies, and self's hidden powers were invoked to tame disease. Of course that years later more interest for science was added to it, and herbs, water cure or hydrotherapy, as well as hygienic lifestyle management, gave it more grandeur in people's eyes. Though there is nothing wrong with natural diet, excercise, lifestyle management, and hygienic principles, many of the so-called natural healing practices are ingrained in a kind of phylosophy that has little scientific background, and is saturated with ancient spiritualism of the worse sort.

I have seen people lose their mental balance after following this type of anti-Christian practices.

You don't have to agree with my opinion, but I beg you to do a more thorough research before you discard my position. You'll be amazed with what you may find so far.

If you want a sound advice: look for real professionals in the field of Holistic Nutrition, or Natural Health, or Medical Herbology, Chriopractors, Natural Hygiene, but stay away form those who practise any thing related to "energy". Why? How can they use energy to cure when they can't even decide how energy evolves within the human machinery? Because there is not scientific studies to back up such practices, they are now retorting to the use of ambiguous concepts related to quantum physic, something that can barely be applied to astronomy, and never to regular biology.

Beware!
References :
Natural Medicine background with more than 20 years experience.

The way I see it is that it is up to you. You are the only one that can decide if this was helpful to you. I am trained in some energy work, and I truly believe in it, but like anything else, it can only help so much. If you are uncomfortable with anything that was going on, feel free to ask your counselor to further explain what she is doing and why she feels that it applies to your situation. Any legitimate practitioner will be more than willing to explain as much as needed, and be able to give you enough info for you to choose what you feel is best. The practitioner also should be asking for your permission, because energy work involves touching you and the metaphysical aspects of your being, and if you are uncomfortable or uneasy, treatment would most certainly be uneffective. I hope this is helpful, and good luck!
References :
LMT, with training in polarity and other methods of energy work.
