I believe besides 1000s of informative articles there is a forum to talk with other parents.

I personally give my kids 1000 mg vitamin c every hour when they are ill. They are 2 and 4 and I have been since they were infants. I myself do this when I wake up with a sore throat and by about noon after several hours of C my sore throat is almost nonexistant. It sounds crazy but I swear by it.

I used about half a scoop of my sodium ascorbate powder (from Bronson Labs) for my son when he was really little (like 3 months). Now I just use the whole 1000 mg.

No sugar. Sugar cuts your bodys ability to fight infection by half.

Overdosing on sugar. Eating or drinking 100 grams (8 tbsp.) of sugar, the equivalent of one 12-ounce can of soda, can reduce the ability of white blood cells to kill germs by forty percent. The immune-suppressing effect of sugar starts less than thirty minutes after ingestion and may last for five hours. In contrast, the ingestion of complex carbohydrates, or starches, has no effect on the immune system.

I’ve heard slippery elm works well – I think it comes in lozenges. You could also try lots of zinc.

mix a decaf chamomile tea and honey with just a small bit of lemon juice. Since you are making it for a small child, let the tea cool, if your child is drinking out of a sippy cup, put the tea in that, otherwise a bottle is fine, just don’t let the child go to sleep with it due to the sugar in the honey. The web site I listed also has a ton of good ideas.
