What is a good holistic remedy for mosquito bites?

What is a good holistic approach to treating red itchy mosquito bites?

Also, any ideas on what to do to prevent them (other than bug spray)?
Thanks Lavander! I will definately use your suggestions.

When you say "carrier base", do you mean something like grapeseed oil or olive oil?

I usually use a baking soda bath for multiple bites. For less bites a little tea tree oil is good for drawing out the itch. A little stingy at first but it releases the anticoagulant the that mosquito inject into our skin.

A good repellent is Lavender essential oil combined with Peppermint. These two oils most insect find offensive. However make sure the oils are in some form of carrier base to spray. Peppermint oil can burn the skin in it’s concentrated form so it has to be diluted.

Rub some banana skin on the mosquito bites for them to heal quickly. You can apply some sort of skin cream.(vaseline, nivea)It always deters them away.
