Why doesn’t the FDA approve some herbal remedies but approves pharmaceuticals with known side effects?

July 9th, 2010

Some herbal remedies are not approved for human consumption even though they have been used traditionally by humans for centuries with very little side effects. One of the herbs I’ve taken works better than a well know medication which has been know to cause bad side effects. Why won’t the FDA approve some things that have well documented histories of human use, but have no problem approving newly developed synthetics?
I’m just glad I found this something that works for me. I can see this remedie becoming band at some point. I say what it is but I don’t want to draw attention
The particular herb I take is sold as not for human consumption because it isn’t FDA approved. However the alkaloids in this herb have been scientifically proven, and well documented to work the same on certain receptors in the brain without a common side effect to a synthetic commonly prescribed for this condition.

I guess they have vowed not to approve anything which can possibly cure you, just the things which can make you dependent upon more chemicals so all you are good for is to keep on taking those drastic chemicals which they have the audacity of calling Medicine. What else do you expect from FDA(Fools, Dolts and A**holes) ? They can’t bite the hand which feeds them my friend, or can they. You can check on their authenticity by the number of paid goons who are giving all of you THUMBS DOWN to even answer against them on this friendly forum. correct me if I am wrong.

Take Care and God Bless.

How do you find cures for diseases or illnesses?

July 9th, 2010

How does anyone start to find cures for diseases and illnesses? do they test a bunch of random chemicals and ingrediants to see what works?

It’s not quite that bad. If there are existing drugs for an illness, chemists study the existing drugs and look for other molecules with similar features.

Drugs that have already been tested for safety are worth testing to see if they have any effect on a disease, even if that’s not the one they were developed for.

There are some efforts to use lots of home computers to find cures, I participate in Community TSC:

Natural Cures to Treat Dark Circles

July 9th, 2010

Having those big (or little), dark circles under your eyes is pretty common. Your eyelids and the skin directly under your eyes are particularly tender and senstive areas of your epidermis, so those dark circles under your eyes can be caused by a myriad of things, including lifestyle, diet, and hereditary disposition.

Under-eye circles can also be heriditary. Dark circles age the face, create a tired, worned appearance and cast a deceivingly disinterested expression. These capillaries really ” leak ” blood which starts to oxidize creating a dark bluish-red pigmentation that looks decidedly like an ugly bruise. Sooner or later, we all learn that there is no area of the face more susceptive to aging than the area around the eyes. Many eye creams way through arduous safety testing as of the potential for the product to enter the eye.

Home remedies for dark circles under the eyes aren’t as fast and effective as dark circle eye creams. But they do have the virtue of being inexpensive and readily available. (Some of them make good snacks, too.) Don’t expect miracles from home remedies, but they can help you get through until UPS brings your Dermalex order.

You can use tea bags and cucumbers: Yes there is definitely something to those commercials where women have cucumbers and tea bags on top of their eyes. Both tea bags and cucumbers reduce inflammation and decrease swelling. Tea bags are especially good to use for dark swollen circles because there is tannin inside of the tea that helps with eliminating the puffiness.

Eat healthy nutritional diet. Include dairy products in your diet and consume green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet. Food rich in iron helps in reducing dark circles because eat times one gets them because they lack iron in their body and consuming sufficient iron and reduce the dark circles.

Use a proper concealer. Test out the best colors at a department store counter or at Sephora. (Tip: Tell the makeup artist you are looking to correct the undereye circles and are testing several different types before purchase). Choose concealer that’s a shade lighter than your foundation. And if your circles are very dark, go 2 shades lighter. You might be choosing a concealer that’s too light if you are getting a ‘raccoon look.’

To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheese cloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off residue and apply an eye cream. Slices of raw potato [chilled if you like it better]are an excellent treatment for under eye circles. Just place the potato slices on your lids and relax for 15 minutes to half-an-hour. To make sure that you use this treatment everyday, make it a routine every night when you go to bed. No need to wake up to chuck those slices after use.

Consult a physician before considering using any expensive or invasive treatments. Not all Eye Circles are formed equally, and understanding and discussing the root causes of your dark circles with a qualified professional will ensure you don’t waste your money.

Gallstones Natural Remedy- Gallbladder Surgery or Gallstone Natural Remedy

July 9th, 2010

You are on the verge of making a big decision. Should you attempt to pass your stones with a gallstone natural remedy or should you permanently remove an organ, the gallbladder. As you look at both options, I would suggest exploring as much as you can about both treatments.

Though both gallbladder surgery and a gallstones natural remedy are considerably effective, one treatment is simpler, more affordable and better for your body longevity (your lifetime health).

Natural Health- Is it Legit?

If you live in a developed country, you know the newest rave in health circles is natural health. However, there are still many people who think that natural health would be considered a ‘quack’. With this stigma, most people and doctors do not even consider natural treatments as an option for our health. But, research is now showing that numerous natural remedies are just as effective as many synthetic medications and surgeries. Not to mention healthier for your body!

To understand natural health, you must realize that natural health cures deal with treating your problem ‘holistically’. Treating an ailment holistically simply means treating the ‘whole body’ as opposed to one specific area of the body. The whole premise behind holistic treatments/natural remedies is your body is one complete organism and affected by many parts. And instead of treating the one part of the body; you would treat the whole body as one whole system.

Let me explain why a gallstone natural remedy would be labeled ‘holistic‘.

The Gallstone Natural Remedy

Health education teaches us that your body needs proper nutrition, proper vitamins, sufficient hydration, adequate physical activity, and literally hundreds of other conditions to be healthy (physically, mentally, and emotionally). With this said, your body is controlled by several factors to make it work most efficiently and effectively. And the body will also be able to repair itself if giving the proper means to control these factors.

And in the case of gallstones, the body requires a simple body flush to cleanse the liver and gallbladder. And if you think about it, do you think God created a body that can only be healed while lying on a surgical table under the hands of an over-priced surgeon who will cut out an organ? No, the body is actually more miraculous than it gets credit for because in the case of gallstones; gallstones can most often be passed with no knife and no removal of the organ.

Gallbladder Surgery- Is it worth it?

I have never met a person who doesn’t think the body is a pretty amazing thing. Even Einstein was vexed at the intricacy of the human body. Yet, modern medicine finds that some body parts are not needed for proper body functioning. More specifically, many doctors believe that surgically removing the gallbladder is the only option to treat gallstones.

Do you find it a little leery to remove a body organ?

And most doctors prescribe three types of surgery: laparoscopic gallbladder surgery; open gallbladder surgery; and needlescopic (or mini-laparoscopic) surgery. All three surgeries usually eliminate the gallstone pain immediately. But needlescopic surgery has become the more popular option because of the simplicity.

However, losing your gallbladder can do drastic damage to your body years down the rode. Gallbladder surgery patients have experienced everything from heightened cholesterol levels, constant diarrhea and even bowel cancer. And in some cases, these complications can lead to death.

Is there a better option?

Natural Herbs Medicine – Improve Your Health Naturally

July 9th, 2010

Natural herbs can be used to cure many health problems. Here are a few ways in which you too can improve your health and increase your energy level using only natural herbal remedies.

Many uses of natural herbs

People use herbs differently to improve their ways of life. For instance, you may find diet herbal supplement, as well as body creams and lotions with medicinal herbs.

Most commonly natural herbs are used to combat:

- high blood pressure
- acne
- arthritis
- difficulties with menopause
- hair loss
- anxiety
- depression

Medicinal natural herbs are mostly found in Asia. One reason is climate – warm and humid it promotes plants growth. It is also traditional way of living, using healing herbs as natural remedies. Recently the Western world has also caught on the usage of medicinal herbs, as being better than the use of traditional medicines. Most commonly use natural herbs are Aloe Vera, Tee Tree, chamomile, Rosemary, Sage and St John’s wort.

Why people prefer alternative herbal treatments to conventional drugs?

Many of us trust healing plants in place of common medicine, because using herbal medicine is a safer alternative to ordinary drugs. Natural herbs almost always will give you the results desired however, it will not work as fast as strong conventional drugs. This happens because healing herbs work for your entire body, making it stronger, not just fight one problem. However, natural herb medicine is still medicine which means that a doctor should prescribe your herbal remedy. Also remember to finish the course even after you started to feel better, otherwise you will not gain the full benefit of herbal treatment.

Finding the right natural medicinal herbs for you

Many people with serious chronic diseases turn to natural remedies for cure, relief and a generally better life. Even though natural herbs are harmless, selecting the right herbal remedy is important, because there are no magical “cure all” herbs. For herbal medicine to work best it should be taken at the right dosage and at the right time of day, usually morning is recommended.

And how will you know what herbs you need? The only way is to check with a doctor if there is an herbal treatment for your condition and whether it will help you. Don’t just go to a Chinese herbs shop and buy whatever remedy they recommend, it might not work for you.

Taking any medicine including medicinal herbs without doctor’s advice is really not a good idea, because healing plants are still medication. Never forget that you will not gain any benefits if you administer the wrong herb, quantity or treatment.

Locating your natural herbal remedies

Visit a clinic that specializes on alternative medicine, they can give you qualified advice. They will fully check your health. Be prepared to go through a full examination, because for holistic medicine it is very important to cure all diseases as a complex. After that the doctor will tell you what natural herb or combination of herbs you need, to cure or relief to your suffering as well as help you live longer and healthier.

You can find very many herbs that have medicinal properties. So all you really need to do is to determine which herbs to use for which situation. Than discuss it with your doctor and you will be on the path to curing your diseases with natural herbs.

In the book Natural Cures "They" Don’t Want You To Know About what is the cure for hypertension?

May 31st, 2010

In the book Natural cures "They" Don’t Want You To Know About by Kevin Trudeau what is the natural cure for hypertension. I am 15 and my blood pressure is about 140/95 I don’t know if you need to know that. I want the natural cure form that book not any other book. Thank you.

Your blood pressure is borderline high, so as of now you’re OK, but the problem is that the older you get the higher your blood pressure will get, so while now you don’t have to worry about it, eventually it’ll be something to be concerned about.

Best home remedy is a spoonful of apple cider vinegar a day, and the usual.. no salt, no caffeine, no alcohol.

Try everything possible before you start using pills. Use pills only if all else fails. Pills have a lot of negative side effects and should be taken only as a last resort.

Also there is a device which teaches you how to breathe better, in a way it helps you breathe like a yogi and lowers your BP that way. It was developed by a medical doctor and has been proven in clinical studies to lower blood pressure, so that’s a really good method. It’s pricey though, about $290 or something. You do it every other day for a couple of months and the results can be permanent, so actually it’s worth it. It’s called resperate.

Lastly, you should decrease junk food intake, it’s full of salt and other poisonous crap.

our dog has skin allergies, any holistic remedies?

May 31st, 2010

we have a pitt mix who get little bumps all over his back every so often. they are itchy, he chews them, loses his fur, the skin gets infected, he ends up wearing an e-collar, what a pain!! the vet said it’s skin allergies and when he breaks out we wash him with a special shampoo that keeps it from getting infected but it still itches and he still chews. we can’t figure what the trigger is, it happens every few days to twice a month. has anyone with pitt-mixes had this problem and what did you do to solve it? i’m not keen on the idea of steroid shots so are there any more natural things to try? (the vet wants to give him steroid shots, that’s her solution)

my itchy dog thanks you for any suggestions…

Does the dog food contain corn or corn meal? Canines are generally allergic to corn. You see it in dry patches on the elbows.
Have you tried a different dog food? One more natrual, with no rice or fillers?
I have been feeding my dog a brand called Hundenflocken (I love the name, eh). I also make homemade beef soup with celery, carrots and sweet potatoes for her.
Steriods are very hard on their liver.
Have you tried putting aloe vera (pure) on the bad spots? This will moisturize and sooth. But I would try a new diet first before steriods.

Do pharmaceutical grade herbs, extracts, and other holistic healing supplements exist?

May 31st, 2010

I had a free initial consultation with a Christian holistic Healing Doctor with multiple college degrees. He claims that he can heal me but he wants to charge me $50 per session. He says that I also have to purchase the supplements, herbs, and extracts from him because they are of a Pharmaceutical grade and those Pharmaceutical grade Supplements, Extracts, and herbs are not sold to the general public. According to him they are only sold to people with his qualifications and training. He also said that I cannot just go to a health food store and buy whatever they recommend or books recommend for my illnesses because everyone has their own body chemistry and what resonates with one person may not help the next person. He says that I have to do sessions with him so that he can test me and see what Supplements, herbs, and extracts resonate with my body chemistry and that his pharmaceutical grade of products are much more pure and concentrated than what I can obtain on my own. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Is there such a thing as pharmaceutical grade Supplements etc.? My Father advised not to waste my money that he has never heard of such a thing. What do you think?

Technically there is no such thing as pharmaceutical grade herbs or extracts. However it sort of depends on the definition. If you go to your local pharmacy most if not all of the supplements and herbs and things that are in pill form are made by companies that make "pure" products and they will have testing done and they will have chemists and chemical engineers working to make sure all the tablets are pure, have the right about of whatever they are making, and are safe. That is basically what pharmaceutical grade is. He might get tablets and things that are more concentrated but that is all they might be, more concentrated. So taking the stuff from a store but taking two instead of one would work out as the same thing.

Everyone certainly does have different body chemistry but everything you said sounds like a complete scam. He is basically saying that you have to pay to see him, pay for the extracts he provides (probably the same as any other) and he says that a bunch of sessions for testing is needed. Just think about that. You will end up spending hundred and hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dollars.

Listen you your father, this is all just profit and things don’t work like that in any normal type of medicine.

Good luck

Are there any natural, herbal remedies for depression?

May 31st, 2010

I realize I do need medication, but I am very hesitant about putting all those chemicals in my body, and I despise the pharmaceutical industry. I know there are lots of herbal remedies out there for helping with other ailments, but those are more physical then mental. Help?

The only natural things I can suggest are: meditating, music, weed, friends, and nature. Other than that, there’s not many natural ailments to be found. Good luck with your depression, and the answer usually can always be found within our selves, really.
