Cystitis – Natural Cures & Cranberry to the Rescue

July 29th, 2010

Cystitis is an inflammation of the urinary bladder. Here we will give information on this condition and what you can do to gain relief.

It usually begins with urethritis (inflammation of the urethra…the connective vessel between the bladder and the exit of the body. Doctors often refer to either cystitis and urethritis as Urinary Tract Infection, or UTI.

Sometimes the infection (if left untreated) the infection can reach the kidney and the result is a very unpleasant and dangerous illness called pyelonephritis.

Cystitis Statistics

Cystitis is common that half of all adult women will experience at least one bought of painful urination, called dysuria.

Most of these cases will be a bacterial UTI. Of all women that get UTI, at least 90% will suffer it again.

How Women Get Cystitis

Almost all of the cases of Cystitis begin as ascending infections. That means the disease agents will enter the body through the urethra and then travel upward to the bladder.

As the female urethra is very short, only 25 to 50 mm in length, this is a short trip for bacteria to get to the bladder.

The guilty culprits in UTI are overwhelmingly E.Coli (plentiful in the anus) but also many strains of Staphylococcus.

Causes of Cystitis

Poor personal hygiene. Bacteria from the anus or vaginal come in contact with the urethra.

Recurrent UTI. Once infected, women usually suffer other occurrences.

Multiple sexual partners. Women with more than one partner will contract UTI more frequently than those with only one partner.

A very short urethra

Diabetes

Chronic dehydration

Vaginitis (bacterial infections of the vagina, whose secretions reach the urethra)

Symptoms of Cystitis

The first symptoms of cystitis in women are pain with urination, or dysuria, with an urgency to urinate.
Frequent urination is also present.

Other symptoms include fever, pain in the lower back and legs, chills with trembling and sometimes nausea. The worse the symptoms are, the more the chance the infection has reached the kidneys..

Medications

Today’s treatment of cystitis includes the use of antibiotics, and some medications to alleviate the pain in urination. Some cases even require surgery.

The Mighty Cranberry

The aim is not to contract cystitis. To do this, you need to make the environment in the bladder hostile to the known invaders.

This is done mainly by drinking lots of water daily, and having a daily dose (or more) of unsweetened cranberry juice.

The natural composition of the cranberry makes the walls of the bladder very difficult for the bacteria to attach to, and thus they cannot grow.

When they are already there, the introduction of cranberry juice (having passed through the kidneys) disturbs the bacteria colonies and they tend to wash out with the urine.

Along with drinking cranberry juice, you can keep cystitis at bay by:

drinking large amounts of fluid

Urinating frequently, and especially after making love

Care in the regular cleansing of the urethra and adjoining areas

Wiping one way (from the vagina towards the anus) after urination and defecation.

Use the above tips to combat Cystitis. This article is for general advice so please make sure you seek medical advice on your condition.

First, I want to make it clear that my son has not been diagnosed with any attention problem, but he is having difficulties in paying attention and following instructions at home and at school (he is 7 years old). We do make sure he is getting at least 10 hours of sleep per night and that his diet is healthy. Do you know of any natural remedies or supplements that could help him out? Are there any natural cures for dandruff?

July 9th, 2010

Are there any natural cures for dandruff?
I am looking for a natural cure for dandruff. This is a new situation and I have had some allergic reactions to most store bought treatments so I am looking for natural things I can try at home. Please include how to use it and how often. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Olive oil really helps. Massage it into your scalp and let it set for 30 minutes with a shower cap on your head.

Or you could use Coconut oil…it also helps with breakage.
Do it the same as the olive oil. but coconut oil works better.
You can also use coconut oil as your daily hair conditioner…it works really good. It really softens your hair and really helps dandruff a lot.

Make sure it is the naturals. If it is natural you can eat it.

Hope I helped. :]

What are some good holistic/herbal/all natural/OTC remedies to fight infection?

July 9th, 2010

Infection in the jaw

Well, it really depends on what sort of infection. For internal, and if you don’t believe in the doc so you cannot get penicillin or any of the many "cyclines", I always go with ingesting an ample amount of bleu cheese. Seriously. Mold is natures penicillin – just so long as you are not allergic. I used it to help clear up an abscess tooth. For minor things, the one who said tea tree oil has the right idea.

Does Holistic Healing actually work?

July 9th, 2010

If so, how?

There really isn’t any such thing. Look up the definition of "holistic" and reformulate your question.

Why doesn’t the FDA approve some herbal remedies but approves pharmaceuticals with known side effects?

July 9th, 2010

Some herbal remedies are not approved for human consumption even though they have been used traditionally by humans for centuries with very little side effects. One of the herbs I’ve taken works better than a well know medication which has been know to cause bad side effects. Why won’t the FDA approve some things that have well documented histories of human use, but have no problem approving newly developed synthetics?
I’m just glad I found this something that works for me. I can see this remedie becoming band at some point. I say what it is but I don’t want to draw attention
The particular herb I take is sold as not for human consumption because it isn’t FDA approved. However the alkaloids in this herb have been scientifically proven, and well documented to work the same on certain receptors in the brain without a common side effect to a synthetic commonly prescribed for this condition.

I guess they have vowed not to approve anything which can possibly cure you, just the things which can make you dependent upon more chemicals so all you are good for is to keep on taking those drastic chemicals which they have the audacity of calling Medicine. What else do you expect from FDA(Fools, Dolts and A**holes) ? They can’t bite the hand which feeds them my friend, or can they. You can check on their authenticity by the number of paid goons who are giving all of you THUMBS DOWN to even answer against them on this friendly forum. correct me if I am wrong.

Take Care and God Bless.

How do you find cures for diseases or illnesses?

July 9th, 2010

How does anyone start to find cures for diseases and illnesses? do they test a bunch of random chemicals and ingrediants to see what works?

It’s not quite that bad. If there are existing drugs for an illness, chemists study the existing drugs and look for other molecules with similar features.

Drugs that have already been tested for safety are worth testing to see if they have any effect on a disease, even if that’s not the one they were developed for.

There are some efforts to use lots of home computers to find cures, I participate in Community TSC:

Natural Cures to Treat Dark Circles

July 9th, 2010

Having those big (or little), dark circles under your eyes is pretty common. Your eyelids and the skin directly under your eyes are particularly tender and senstive areas of your epidermis, so those dark circles under your eyes can be caused by a myriad of things, including lifestyle, diet, and hereditary disposition.

Under-eye circles can also be heriditary. Dark circles age the face, create a tired, worned appearance and cast a deceivingly disinterested expression. These capillaries really ” leak ” blood which starts to oxidize creating a dark bluish-red pigmentation that looks decidedly like an ugly bruise. Sooner or later, we all learn that there is no area of the face more susceptive to aging than the area around the eyes. Many eye creams way through arduous safety testing as of the potential for the product to enter the eye.

Home remedies for dark circles under the eyes aren’t as fast and effective as dark circle eye creams. But they do have the virtue of being inexpensive and readily available. (Some of them make good snacks, too.) Don’t expect miracles from home remedies, but they can help you get through until UPS brings your Dermalex order.

You can use tea bags and cucumbers: Yes there is definitely something to those commercials where women have cucumbers and tea bags on top of their eyes. Both tea bags and cucumbers reduce inflammation and decrease swelling. Tea bags are especially good to use for dark swollen circles because there is tannin inside of the tea that helps with eliminating the puffiness.

Eat healthy nutritional diet. Include dairy products in your diet and consume green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet. Food rich in iron helps in reducing dark circles because eat times one gets them because they lack iron in their body and consuming sufficient iron and reduce the dark circles.

Use a proper concealer. Test out the best colors at a department store counter or at Sephora. (Tip: Tell the makeup artist you are looking to correct the undereye circles and are testing several different types before purchase). Choose concealer that’s a shade lighter than your foundation. And if your circles are very dark, go 2 shades lighter. You might be choosing a concealer that’s too light if you are getting a ‘raccoon look.’

To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheese cloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off residue and apply an eye cream. Slices of raw potato [chilled if you like it better]are an excellent treatment for under eye circles. Just place the potato slices on your lids and relax for 15 minutes to half-an-hour. To make sure that you use this treatment everyday, make it a routine every night when you go to bed. No need to wake up to chuck those slices after use.

Consult a physician before considering using any expensive or invasive treatments. Not all Eye Circles are formed equally, and understanding and discussing the root causes of your dark circles with a qualified professional will ensure you don’t waste your money.

Gallstones Natural Remedy- Gallbladder Surgery or Gallstone Natural Remedy

July 9th, 2010

You are on the verge of making a big decision. Should you attempt to pass your stones with a gallstone natural remedy or should you permanently remove an organ, the gallbladder. As you look at both options, I would suggest exploring as much as you can about both treatments.

Though both gallbladder surgery and a gallstones natural remedy are considerably effective, one treatment is simpler, more affordable and better for your body longevity (your lifetime health).

Natural Health- Is it Legit?

If you live in a developed country, you know the newest rave in health circles is natural health. However, there are still many people who think that natural health would be considered a ‘quack’. With this stigma, most people and doctors do not even consider natural treatments as an option for our health. But, research is now showing that numerous natural remedies are just as effective as many synthetic medications and surgeries. Not to mention healthier for your body!

To understand natural health, you must realize that natural health cures deal with treating your problem ‘holistically’. Treating an ailment holistically simply means treating the ‘whole body’ as opposed to one specific area of the body. The whole premise behind holistic treatments/natural remedies is your body is one complete organism and affected by many parts. And instead of treating the one part of the body; you would treat the whole body as one whole system.

Let me explain why a gallstone natural remedy would be labeled ‘holistic‘.

The Gallstone Natural Remedy

Health education teaches us that your body needs proper nutrition, proper vitamins, sufficient hydration, adequate physical activity, and literally hundreds of other conditions to be healthy (physically, mentally, and emotionally). With this said, your body is controlled by several factors to make it work most efficiently and effectively. And the body will also be able to repair itself if giving the proper means to control these factors.

And in the case of gallstones, the body requires a simple body flush to cleanse the liver and gallbladder. And if you think about it, do you think God created a body that can only be healed while lying on a surgical table under the hands of an over-priced surgeon who will cut out an organ? No, the body is actually more miraculous than it gets credit for because in the case of gallstones; gallstones can most often be passed with no knife and no removal of the organ.

Gallbladder Surgery- Is it worth it?

I have never met a person who doesn’t think the body is a pretty amazing thing. Even Einstein was vexed at the intricacy of the human body. Yet, modern medicine finds that some body parts are not needed for proper body functioning. More specifically, many doctors believe that surgically removing the gallbladder is the only option to treat gallstones.

Do you find it a little leery to remove a body organ?

And most doctors prescribe three types of surgery: laparoscopic gallbladder surgery; open gallbladder surgery; and needlescopic (or mini-laparoscopic) surgery. All three surgeries usually eliminate the gallstone pain immediately. But needlescopic surgery has become the more popular option because of the simplicity.

However, losing your gallbladder can do drastic damage to your body years down the rode. Gallbladder surgery patients have experienced everything from heightened cholesterol levels, constant diarrhea and even bowel cancer. And in some cases, these complications can lead to death.

Is there a better option?

Flush Your Gallstones Today!

You want a treatment that works and I don’t blame you for being ‘overly skeptical’. I am the same type of person. But what if I told you that you can flush your gallstones in 24 hours with a simple gallstone natural remedy that is guaranteed to work.
